Some of our training offerings are:
Hands-on Introductory Internet: This course allows
the student to learn and use common Internet tools.
Basic UNIX: This is a hands-on class in which the
student learns basic UNIX commands and concepts. Includes
competency based interactive dynamic web pages that teaches
the student UNIX script programming by leading the student
through numerous UNIX script examples from the simplest UNIX
scripts to more advanced scripting examples. The course includes
on-line forms based testing.
Intermediate UNIX: This class is a hands-on in which
the student learns to create and troubleshoot UNIX scripts.
Basic PERL: This web-based course allows the student
to learn about PERL language concepts and features hands-on.
The student will have to modify existing PERL scripts as well
as create their own PERL scripts. The course includes on-line
forms based testing.
Hands-on HTML: This web-based course will allow the
student to create working web pages utililizing a majority
of the HTML tags, in-line images, image handling, named anchors,
tables, clickable images, and forms creation. The course includes
on-line forms based testing.
Web Programming using PERL: This web-based course will
allow you to combine your skills you've learned in HTML and
PERL and construct useful as well as custom web applications
such as counters, guest book, question and answer databases,
on-line registration programs, basic animation, as well as
generally handle the information gathered from most of the
forms types on the Internet.
Introductory Java Programming: This web-based course
the student will create their own Java applets centering around
the areas of Java syntax, graphics, threads, animation and
sound, and Java's Abstract Windowing Toolkit. The course includes
on-line forms based testing.
Introduction
to JavaScript: This hands-on internet based course the
student will create their own JavaScripts centering around
the areas of using JavaScript hyperlinks and anchors, statement
syntax, objects, methods, properties, event system, user-defined
objects, variables, JavaScript and HTML forms, JavaScript
and Frames, JavaScript and Windows, time-out mechanisms, and
interfacing JavaScript and Java. The course includes on-line
forms based testing.
Java
Concepts:This web-based & CDROM based course the student
will create their own Java applets centering around the areas
of Java syntax, graphics, threads, animation and sound, Java's
Abstract Windowing Toolkit, advanced AWT usage, advanced graphics
techniques, basic networking and client-server programming,
forms processing, URL access, and multithreaded programming,
JDBC, and JavaBeans. The student will create both standalone
Java applications and Java applets. The course includes on-line
forms based 'complete the program' testing and CD-ROM based
concepts testing.
*Computer topics are subject to change. This course also has
a substantial Computer based theory component centering around
instructor selected topics from the following theory topics:
an overview of Java, Java for C++ developers, object-oriented
principles and Java, introduction to the Java language, anatomy
of Java classes, Java user interface programming, features
of Java, Java security, networking and the Internet, Java
Beans, Java database connectivity, Java and distributed objects,
Java animation and images, and Java tips and techniques.
Intermediate C++: This hands-on course the student
will create their own C++ programs centering around the areas
of Keyboard and Screen I/O, Classes and Objects, File I/O,
Inheritance, Functions and Operator Overloading, Templates,
Memory Allocation, Free Space, Virtual Functions and Polymorphism,
Scope, and References.
Microsoft Office:This hands-on course introduces the
student to Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word is a very powerful
word processing program that will allow the user to create
an array of documents. The hands-on experience that the student
will receive during this course will enable them to be more
efficient on the job and also in their everyday life. During
this course the student will be introduced to the following
areas of Word: Creating a Document, Editing and Formatting
a Document, Creating a Multiple-Page Report, Desktop Publishing
a Newsletter, and Creating Styles, Outlines, Tables, and Tables
of Contents.
